It’s been more than two decades since former T.G.I.S. sweetheart Kim delos Santos split from actor Dino Guevarra — and shockingly, the exes have not spoken face-to-face since.
The 42-year-old actress-turned-nurse, now based in the US, told TV host Boy Abunda on Fast Talk that the last real communication they had was in 2004, the year their marriage ended.
“We haven’t really spoken, until today,” Kim confessed. “There was one time he reached out — sent me an email asking, ‘Why did you leave?’ Maybe he wanted to fix things… but after that, nothing.”
Years later, Dino sent her a friend request on Facebook — but Kim admits she declined it.
“Bitter pa ako noon,” she laughed. “I thought, ‘Why would I add him? We’re not close.’”
Ironically, it was Dino’s current wife, Karen, who inspired Kim to finally let go of the past. After reading one of Karen’s Facebook posts — ‘Some people made mistakes, but it doesn’t mean they’re a bad person’ — Kim had a change of heart.
“That hit me. I realised it was time. I had peace. I accepted what happened. If it didn’t happen, I wouldn’t have gone back to school, become a nurse, or been with my family.”
Kim and Karen have since crossed paths — even seeing T.G.I.S. co-star Antoinette Taus together — and last year, Karen quietly donated to Kim’s charity event.
Looking back, Kim believes “everything happened for a reason” — though she and Dino still haven’t had that long-overdue talk.
And in a nostalgic twist, she also revealed her very first boyfriend: the late T.G.I.S. heartthrob Red Sternberg.
