The combined effects of the southwest monsoon and recent tropical storms — Crising, Dante, and Emong — have claimed at least 30 lives, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported on Sunday.
Of the 30 reported fatalities, only 13 have been confirmed, while 17 others remain under validation, pending official confirmation from local disaster units.

- Region 10 (Northern Mindanao): 1

Widespread Impact
The NDRRMC said that a total of 1,536,381 families—or approximately 5.57 million people—have been affected across 6,053 barangays in 17 regions.
As of the latest update, 51,681 families are currently receiving assistance in 1,689 evacuation centers nationwide.
The Office of Civil Defense (OCD) clarified that the affected population includes both families who were displaced and those who chose to remain in their homes despite the threat.
Billions in Damage
The series of storms have left behind widespread destruction, with:
- Agricultural losses estimated at ₱484.4 million
- Infrastructure damage already exceeding ₱5 billion
Government agencies continue to conduct rescue, relief, and rehabilitation operations, with weather forecasts suggesting further monsoon rains in the coming days.
The public is advised to remain vigilant and to follow advisories from Pagasa, NDRRMC, and local authorities for updates on weather conditions and safety protocols.
