Aspiring actor and Star Magic newcomer Joaquin Arce has finally responded to the viral Instagram Story posted by his stepmother, Angel Locsin, which sent fans into a frenzy over a possible showbiz comeback.
The 18-year-old son of producer Neil Arce and stepson of Angel was recently introduced as part of Star Magic’s latest batch of talents. In the feature post, Angel reshared the content and proudly declared:
“Me, your mom and your dad are very proud of you ❤️ Can’t wait to work with you.”
The message quickly sparked buzz online, with fans speculating that the screen goddess, who has been absent from both showbiz and social media since 2022, might finally be stepping back into the spotlight.
Angel’s cryptic remark had some fans screaming “comeback!” — with several noting that her longtime friend Dimples Romana had previously mentioned that the actress was enjoying a quieter, more private life.
But what does Joaquin himself think?
“Right now, I can’t say for sure whether we’re going to have a project or not,” Joaquin told reporters at a press conference.
“But maybe, if I act well enough… maybe, I’ll get on her level. Baka magkaroon ako ng karapatan para makatrabaho ko po si Tita Angel.”
Pressed on whether he wanted to “earn the right” to work alongside her, Joaquin didn’t hesitate:
“It’s a need. Definitely.”
When asked what kind of project he imagines doing with the award-winning actress, Joaquin was clear:
“Based on her career and the projects she’s done? Action, for sure. But I’m open to anything.”
Angel Locsin is best known for her iconic roles in The Legal Wife, The General’s Daughter, and as superheroine Darna and avian warrior Alwina in Mulawin.
