‘Okay Ka, Fairy Ko!’ actor Bayani Casimiro Jr. dies

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine entertainment industry mourns the passing of veteran comedian Bayani Casimiro Jr., beloved for his role as Prinsipe K (Prinsipe Kahilingan) in the iconic sitcom Okay Ka, Fairy Ko. He died on July 25, 2025, from cardiac arrest. He was 57.

The sad news was confirmed to PEP.ph by his sister, Marilou Casimiro.

Born Arnulfo “Jude” Casimiro on August 15, 1967, Bayani Jr. was the son of legendary tap dancer Bayani Casimiro Sr., fondly known as the “Fred Astaire of the Philippines.” Following in his father’s footsteps — quite literally — Bayani Jr. carved a name for himself in comedy and television.

After the death of Bayani Sr. in 1989, Bayani Jr. stepped into the magical world of Okay Ka, Fairy Ko, joining the cast as Prinsipe K, the royal character who granted wishes and brought laughter into Filipino households throughout the late ’80s and ’90s.

The show, which starred Vic Sotto, aired across major networks: IBC 13 (1987–1989), ABS-CBN (1989–1995), and GMA-7 (1995–1997). Bayani Jr.’s portrayal of Prinsipe K became one of his most memorable roles, earning him a loyal following.

Beyond his sitcom fame, Bayani Jr. appeared in over ten films and multiple television programs. He eventually stepped away from the limelight, leading a quiet life away from showbiz.

He remained unmarried and had no children.

Final Resting Place

Bayani Jr.’s wake is currently being held at St. Peter’s Memorial Chapel in Sucat, Parañaque City. He will be cremated and laid to rest on July 30 at Loyola Memorial Park, also in Parañaque.

His sister Marilou has expressed a heartfelt request to the public — and especially to Vic Sotto — to be informed of Bayani’s passing.

“Malaki ang naging kontribusyon ni Bossing Vic sa showbiz career ni Bayani,” she said. “Kung maiparating sa kanya, makakatulong ito sa pamilya.”

She also humbly requested for flowers to be sent, noting the sparse floral tributes at her brother’s wake.

As tributes continue to pour in from fans and fellow artists, Bayani Casimiro Jr. is fondly remembered not just as Prinsipe K, but as a kind, joyful soul who brought magic and laughter to millions of Filipinos.

Rest in peace, Prinsipe ng Kahilingan. You will always be part of our childhood.
