MANILA— Heartbroken and in shock, Filipina actress-comedian Rufa Mae Quinto has issued a public statement after the tragic passing of her husband, Trevor Magallanes, earlier this week.
Taking to social media on Wednesday, July 31, the 46-year-old star revealed the devastating news and asked for privacy and prayers as her family grieves the loss.
“I’m deeply saddened by this development,” she wrote. “Hope you give us time to mourn his loss, especially my daughter. Just pray for us that we will get through this by the help of God!”
Rufa Mae, known for her bubbly persona and iconic comedy roles, appeared somber as she addressed swirling rumors online. She emphasized that both her and Trevor’s immediate families are still verifying the circumstances surrounding his death.
“We are still gathering factual information… so we kindly ask his friends or anyone to stop spreading fake news or mere speculations,” she added.
The actress also revealed she will be flying to the United States with her daughter, Alexandria Athena, to be with Trevor’s family and finalize arrangements.
“Please wait for the official announcement surrounding his death from me and his family only—and not any other source,” she stressed.
In her emotional post, Rufa closed with a personal farewell to her late husband:
“Hanggang sa huli… hanggang sa muli, mahal kita Trev.”

Rufa Mae and Trevor, an American financial analyst of Filipino descent, tied the knot in 2016 in Quezon City, and welcomed their daughter the same year. The family later relocated to the U.S., where Rufa spent several years before returning to the Philippines to resume her showbiz career.
Their marriage, however, hit a rocky patch. In 2024, Trevor hinted on Instagram that the couple were heading for divorce. Yet in a January 2025 interview with Boy Abunda, Rufa clarified that no legal separation had been filed and reminded the public that divorce remains illegal in the Philippines.
Despite their marital difficulties, her recent tribute shows that love remained—even if complicated—until the very end.
