“Stop Asking Women When They’re Having Kids”—Pia Wurtzbach Speaks Out

“Your worth as a woman is not measured by your ability to bear a child.” Former Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach is taking a firm stand against the relentless questioning women face about motherhood—and she’s not holding back.

In a raw and honest interview with entrepreneur and host Anas Bukhash, Pia opened up about the pressure that followed her after marrying husband Jeremy Jauncey.

“After I got married, I just kept hearing that question everywhere: When are you going to have kids?” she said. “Before that it was, when are you getting married? And now it’s, when’s the baby?”

While she made it clear that she and Jeremy do want to start a family “one day”, Pia emphasized that now is not the time—and her husband fully supports her decision.

“Not now. Not at this point in my career and in my life,” she explained. “And Jeremy is also fine with that.”

But more than just personal timing, Pia is standing up for a bigger issue: society’s narrow definition of womanhood.

“As an empowered woman, I think your worth is not measured by you being able to bear a child. There are so many more things to a woman than just that.”

She pointed out that many women have different life goals—and that doesn’t make them less.

“Some women don’t want kids. Some want to focus on their careers, others want to care for their parents, or commit their lives to social work. That doesn’t mean they’re less valuable or less capable.”

In a world where women are still judged by their roles as wives or mothers, Pia’s message is refreshingly unapologetic:

“I really want to stand up for women who choose not to have kids. I respect that. I salute that.”

Whether she’s wearing the crown or using her voice, Pia Wurtzbach continues to champion a woman’s right to choose—on her terms, in her time.
